Metropole Hanoi takes top award in Heritage Category:
On 24th August, the
Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi was honored as one of Vietnam's most illustrious hotels as it accepts the top award in the Heritage Category by the PATA (Pacific Asia Travel Association) Gold Award 2010.
The hotel is lauded for its efforts to conserve and prosper one of Southeast Asia’s most treasured properties and for Sofitel’s relaunch of the Metropole as the hotel group’s first Legend property.
From 2004 to 2009, the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi was mended as well as fixed with modern facilities; however, it has still kept unique architecture since 1901.
A variety of luxurious rooms with typical style convey the link between the hotel and legend great men who used to stay here such as the comedy artist Charlie Chaplin, the famous writer Somerset Maugham, and Graham Greene.
These rooms are located in the old sections built in 1901. Each of them has the beauty of the old days.
Mr Kai Speth, the Managing Director of the Sofitel Legend Metropole Hanoi said that while the other hotels only think about the present and the future, we think about the present, the future, and the past.
The PATA gold award confirmed our right direction. In 2009, the hotel won recognition on Conde Nast Traveler’s Gold List and Travel and Leisure’s list of the 500
Best Hotels in the World
